Converting From Word To PDF

By John Kennedy

Chances are that at some point in time you will need to convert from word to PDF. It's the most widely readable format in the world. It is also revered as a safe, virus free way to distribute information.

PDF documents have always been popular since its inception in the early 1990s. However, it's position in the digital world was secured when it became an ISO standard. The PDF file format ISO designation is ISO 32000.

PDF documents are often used for their ability to have user fillable forms. For example, the IRS uses PDF forms for their downloadable IRS documents. This allows users to easily type in their information directly into the PDF document and then print it out.

Sometimes when you create a Word document the resulting file can be very large in size. Depending on your e-mail service if you try to e-mail this file it may get denied or block. There are many people who will not accept Word document files because they could contain viruses or malicious software.

There can be a lot of different reasons someone would need to convert a Word document into a PDF file. In fact almost any file format can be converted into a PDF. It's common for users to not have Microsoft office and be unable to open Word documents.

A few good reasons to convert your Word documents to PDF:

1. Anyone on any computer running any operating system can view PDF files

2. World class security options

3. Merge different file types into one PDF standard file

4. Ideal for CD-ROM or digital delivery of information

5. Quick and easy to do (with the right software)

So what should you use to convert from Word to PDF? You can purchase Adobe's least expensive product for $99. I don't know about you, but this is a little steep for my wallet.

As with most anything in the world there are free software solutions available to you. And just as with most anything else in the world there really is no such thing as free and you get what you pay for.

Many of these free solutions have absolutely no customer service and on top of that are generally the ones most difficult to use. Plus, they lack most features we need.

Many of them are adware based. What this means is they will bombard you with advertisements in a wide variety of different methods. It's very important to read the terms of service if you're going or choose a free solution as you may be shocked to which you are agreeing to.

Most free PDF converters have limited capabilities, no customer support, little (if any) security features available, and very unreliable results. If you want results you can count on, easy to use software, world class security options, and you don't want to spend $100 or more to convert from Word to PDF, then I know just the software for you.
